We’ve all been there – those days when the motivation to work is just not there.
Whether it’s due to burnout, comparison, or simply needing a break, it’s important to recognize and address these feelings in a healthy way.
Here are some strategies that help me stay on track when I simply don’t feel like working.
1. Put Your Phone in Another Room
Sometimes the demotivation comes from comparison and the resulting analysis paralysis.
There have been many times where I’ve looked at other lawyers, content creators, or business owners, and my motivation to work on my own to-do list plummeted to almost zero.
In these moments, putting my phone in another room and taking a moment to reset helps me regain focus and get things done.
The physical act of distancing myself from distractions can be incredibly powerful in breaking the cycle of comparison and getting back on track.
2. Find Co-Working Communities to Hold You Accountable
I’ve preached this from the rooftops, and I’ll preach it again: accountability is key.
I have at least two communities that help me stay on task and get work done.
The first one is my group community where I do 50-minute Pomodoro sessions (30 Day Free Groove Pass Here).
These sessions have been a game changer, helping me accomplish over 3,500 Pomodoro sessions ranging from meal prepping to exercising to sending emails and preparing for client calls.
The structure and support of these sessions make a huge difference in my productivity.
The second one is the Flown app, which also offers co-working sessions and productivity tools.
If you’re interested in joining some co-working sessions with me, reply back to this email, and I’ll be happy to notify you when we’re doing them.
If you’ve been working non-stop, maybe it’s time to take a rest.
Watch a show, take a break, or simply do something that relaxes you.
It’s important to recognize when you’re experiencing burnout or simply need a break.
Giving yourself grace and acknowledging your hard work is crucial for maintaining long-term productivity and well-being.
By implementing these strategies, you can better manage those days when working feels like the last thing you want to do.
Remember, it’s okay to take a step back and reset.
Productivity is a marathon, not a sprint, and taking care of your mental and emotional health is just as important as ticking off items on your to-do list.
If you’re interested in joining co-working sessions or want more tips on staying productive, feel free to reply to this email.
