"The decisions made quietly, with intention, while the world was watching something else" brought to mind the invisible power of the tide.

Decades ago, I was crewing on a yacht in a race off the coast of Adelaide, South Australia. At one point, the wind died away to nothing. The whole fleet was becalmed and every yacht dropped anchor. It was the only way to hold your position until the wind returned.

It struck me that in 1972, Rachel dropped anchor (ie protected the name) so she could hold her position while there was no wind in her sails.

But when the wind returned, she was in a position to power ahead.
